How to Help
  • Through funds provided by LBMT, the Diocese of Cyangugu supports many of the needy and disadvantaged people in Cyangugu Province
  • The main emphasis is on helping to meet spiritual, physical and intellectual needs through the work of the church in proclaiming the Gospel, teaching as well as practical, self-help and sustainable projects to benefit poor communities
  • In the Diocese there is an established network of parish pastors who know their people and care for them
  • LBMT have strong links with the Administrator of the Diocese in Cyangugu and are able to monitor the spending of all donated funds.
  • In addition to work in Cyangugu Province the Trust is seeking to support projects to help the church in Butare Diocese, Rwanda, as well as projects in Burundi and Uganda. Donations to other areas are equally monitored
Any donations, great or small, will be used directly to further the work of LBMT in Cyangugu Diocese or other parts of East Africa where the Trust supports projects through the Anglican Church. Donate on line at justgiving.com, or alternatively please send your donations to:

Cheques should be made payable to LBMT. If it is possible to include a completed Gift Aid form, tax can be reclaimed on your gift. It may be possible to designate the area where your money is spent as follows:
  1. Sponsor St Matthew's School £100 per year and aid a child's education. £500 a year for a student at University. In each case you will be sent a photograph of your sponsored child as well as reports on progress.
  2. Contribute funds towards the Cyangugu Diocese school building programme.
  3. Funds for pastor's training and housing
  4. Contributions towards rural church buildings
  5. Funds to build a Guest House in Buye Diocese, Burundi
Alternatively you may like to donate money to be used at the discretion of LBMT. In many ways this is more useful as there are fewer administration costs. You might also like to visit the Peace Guest House at Cyangugu to see the work of the Diocese for yourself. You can be certain of a warm welcome and a fascinating visit!
